I found a few pictures of Jamia performing at the David Foster and Friends Charity Gala and Concert in Halifax over the weekend. Jamia performed "Who's Loving You" and "Respect" at the event. The Young Artist Awards were announced yesterday and August Rush won the award for BEST FAMILY FEATURE FILM (Comedy or Drama)! Unfortunately, Jamia did not win the award in the BEST PERFORMANCE IN A FEATURE FILM (Supporting Young Actress) category, but I'm sure it was a pleasure to even be nominated! Jamia has been keeping busy lately! She performed at a David Foster Gala in Canada last night. On April 4th she will be honored at the SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. Drum Major for Justice Awards in Atlanta. She will be receiving the Youth Award at the dinner memorializing the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Oscar winning actor/director Forrest Whitaker will also be honored at the event which will take place at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel in downtown Atlanta. Hey Everyone! I finally got around to adding some of those new Jamia keepers to the site! I just added 8 new keepers. There's now a keeper for Jamia's perseverance, stage presence, braveness, talkativeness, powerful lungs, positive attitude, personality and beautiful name! Hey Everyone! Check the gallery for two new pictures of Jamia on the Red Carpet last night. She looked super cute in a pink Ella Zahlan couture dress! Her little sister Olivia is with her in one of the pictures, she looked really cute too, she looks just like Jamia to me. *Smile* Unfortunately I couldn't find many pictures, but I will keep searching... if any luck I'll add them later. Hey Ya'll! I hope you all got to see Jamia and the IMPACT Repertory Theatre's performance last night. If not, you can watch it on YouTube HERE. I think everyone sounded AMAZING. I was so proud of Jamia, although they did not win, just having the opportunity to sing LIVE before millions of viewers world wide was a blessing! Jamia attended a pre-Oscar event hosted by Black Enterprise magazine on Wednesday. Access Atlanta posted up some really cute pictures of her getting prepared for the event! Hey Everyone! Now that the WGA Strike is officially OFF, the 80th Annual Academy Awards will definitely go ON and as expected, Jamia has been announced as one of this years performers. The show will air LIVE on Sunday, February 24th, 2008 at 5pt/8et. To show our excitement for this big event, I've added a countdown to the side of the site. This performance will be huge for Jamia and I'm just so happy for her. *Smile* I've also added a video of Jamia performing at 'An Evening Of Stars Tribute to Aretha Franklin'. Jamia and The IMPACT Reperatory Theatre appeared on 'Good Morning America' yesterday morning to perform 'Raise It Up'. Unfortunately, I did not know about it so I was not able to get a video myself, but there's a small clip online of Jamia talking that you can view HERE. I can't find anything of them performing though. I hope you still enjoy it anyway. 'RAISE IT UP' OSCAR NOMINATION + POSSIBLE PERFORMANCE!

We'd like to give a HUGE congratulations to our girl Jamia as her song 'Raise It Up,' from the August Rush soundtrack, has been nominated for an OSCAR! The song is nominated in the Best Original Song category! It will compete with three songs from the movie "Enchanted" — "Happy Working Song," "So Close" and "That's How You Know" — and "Falling Slowly" from the movie "Once." Although Jamia is the lead singer on the song, she's not technically nominated, as the nomination goes to the song's writers. But if the show goes on as planned Jamia and Impact Repertory Theatre will be performing the song LIVE at the 80th Annual Academy Awards Ceremony on February 24, 2008! Let's pray that it happens! CONGRATS JAMIA! WE'RE SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! I've also added two short articles about her being nominated. Great news! Jamia will be attending the MusiCares Foundation Los Angeles salute to Aretha Franklin who is the 2008 person of the year! Jamia will not only be attending the event, but performing as well! This will be the 2nd tribute to Aretha that Jamia has performed at. Other performers that will also be apart of the show include Patti Austin, Shirley Caesar, the Blues Brothers, Anthony Hamilton, Fantasia, Bebe & CeCe Winans, and more! Hey Everyone! I have a small update today. First, we were able to get the 'Raise It Up' track on the music player! You can now listen to the song at the top of the site. If you didn't know, 'Raise It Up' is one of the 59 songs being considered in the Original Song category for the 80th Academy Awards®! Let's hope that it's nominated. Also, I know the C-Box isn't working right now and that it's saying that it's expired. That is because last month I upgraded to test out their premium box and this month, I don't want to pay for it anymore; it wasn't all that great. Haha. I am trying to see if it can be fixed (downgraded back to basic), if not, I will just make an all new C-Box. It's short and sweet and really shows that Jamia's talents are definitely being recognized! The article can be read below. Be sure to go out and support Jamia by going to see the movie! A STAR IS BORN: "August Rush" music supervisor Anastasia Brown predicts that with the film's opening this week, a star will be born. "We found this little girl named Jamia Simone Nash, who sings like an angel," says Brown, who's also a judge on "Nashville Star." "After this movie comes out, her life is forever going to be changed." In the film, child music prodigy August Rush (Freddie Highmore) is drawn to the music he hears in a church in Harlem. "We had to find a choir, so we scoured New York for a really authentic, inspirational and not famous choir, and we found Impact, a choir in Harlem that gives back to the community and counsels people through music. We created the song 'Raise It Up' with two of the songwriters from the choir, and it's one of the most amazing songs in the film. It's gospel but not preachy, and Jamia is the lead. The premiere for August Rush was held this past Sunday in New York. I've added some new pictures to the gallery of Jamia that you can check out if you want. They're all tagged unfortunately, but I'll try to get some without tags. A visitor of this site attended the premiere and she had this to say about Jamia... "I went to the NYC August Rush premiere last night and Jamia stole the movie. She came on during the last half and stole every scene. The audience howled during her scene with Freddie at the piano. Hey Everybody! Check out this clip from the movie 'August Rush'. In the clip Jamia is singing and she sounds AMAAAZING. The song that she's singing, "Raise It Up", I believe is the song she will have on the soundtrack for the movie! Make sure you check it out, you won't be disappointed! You can view it HERE. Today, we're exactly one month away from the movies opening. 'August Rush' will be in theaters on November 21st. Hey Jamia Fans! I have some very exciting news! Jamia will be in concert in NYC! A Celebration of Music will be held featuring music from the movie August Rush. Jamia will be performing along with many others including Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Keri Russell, David Crosby and more. The event will take place on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 8:30pm at NY City Center Main Stage. If you're in the area, you may want to purchase tickets to see the show. 'AUGUST RUSH' SOUNDTRACK TRACKLISTING!

According to CDUniverse.Com, Jamia will have a song on the 'August Rush' soundtrack! The song is entitled, Raise It Up. You can see the full possible tracklisting HERE. The soundtrack is set to be released on November 6th 2007! 'August Rush' will be in theaters on November 21st; the movie was previously set to come out in October. Jamia has a role in the movie and although she's not the star of the movie, I hear her part is pretty big. So, make sure you support the movie when it comes to theaters this November. Also, this is old news to some (including me, haha) but Jamia sings the hook for 'Black Maybe' on Common's 2007 album Finding Forever. Posted by MizzReyah

Hey Jamia Fans! I am so excited to have a new update for you guys! Today, we have an old video interview and performance of Jamia on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from Christmas 2002! Jamia was so little and cute in the clip! She talked about what she asked Santa for that year, among other things. She performed Silent Night and she sounded great (as always). It was funny watching the band try and keep up with her though. You can see the interview HERE and performance HERE. Both can be found on the video page as well. Enjoy the videos guys! Hey Jamia Fans! I bet you can't believe your eyes, can you? It has been months since I last changed the layout around here. I'm sorry for sticking you with the same layout for so long, but I didn't have time to change it until now. Well, this lovely layout was made by the talented Anna so many thanks to her. I've also set the site for skinning, which means visitors can choose which layout they want to see when they visit the site. I added the latest two layouts we had to the skins. I will hopefully be able to make newer layouts soon but no promises. Well, that's all for now. Hey Everyone! FINALLY, the trailer for 'August Rush' is online. You can click HERE to view it (high speed connection is recommended). Not only does Jamia appear a bit in the trailer, but her beautiful singing voice can be heard in it as well. Who knows? Maybe she even recorded some songs for the soundtrack. The Trailer for 'August Rush' should be online sometime within the next week or two. COMINGSOON.NET got a sneak peek of the film and wrote up an article about it that can be found HERE. Here's what they had to say about Jamia. "And watch out for scene-stealing newcomer Jamia Simone Nash, whose powerful pipes and spunky church choir girl turned August's unlikely music tutor had everyone at the screening talking." Hey Everyone. Do you all remember the movie that Jamia worked on last year entitled, 'August Rush'? For months we wondered when we would get to see the movie and see Jamia on the BIG-SCREEN for the first time. Well, we no longer have to wonder as there is now a release date set for the movie. It's set to be in theaters on October 19th 2007. I know, it seems so far away but I'm sure those few month will fly by quickly. I'm excited and I can't wait to finally see more Jamia. If you didn't already know, Jamia plays the role of Hope in the movie. It's a film about a charismatic young Irish guitarist (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and a sheltered young cellist (Keri Russell) who have a chance encounter one magical night above New York's Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant, August Rush, orphaned by circumstance. Now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger (Robin Williams), August (Freddie Highmore) uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated at birth. Hope is a little girl from a Harlem mission who encounters August Rush. So, be on the look out. If I happen to find the trailer or any promotional stills with Jamia, expect them to be posted. Hey Everyone! I just had to address this issue. Lately people have been posting on the tagboard pretending to be Jamia and it's really annoying. Please stop pretending to be her. She doesn't like it and it's not right to make others believe that they are talking to the real Jamia when they aren't. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone was pretending to be you so why do it to others? Be yourself! I'll never understand posers...? Also, the real Jamia Simone Nash does post on the tagboard occasionally but I know when it's her so don't even waste your time. All posers will be banned. Now, as for the site. I will hopefully take it off hiatus within the next month with some new changes and I'll try my best to keep it updated more frequently. Just please give me some time. Jamia will be performing at the David Foster Gala tomorrow at Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ont. This is a charity event that helps cover non-medical costs for families whose children require organ transplants. Other celebrity guest will include R&B star Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and comedian Sinbad. Hopefully some pictures will turn up online. Hey Everybody, I just decided to post this message for everybody with MySpace. Jamia does not have MySpace Page! There are a couple of people on there claiming to be Jamia. The URLs are myspace.com/jamianash and myspace.com/jamianashmusic!! These people have done this before and Jamia's parents got them removed. Thanks for voting on the poll! I've updated the audio page with some more old audio! The video of Jamia on 'Steve Harvey's Big Time' got messed up some how so for now there is only audio of her appearence until I fix it. I also added some audios from when she was MC Lily on Nick Jr.! I don't know if you remember but she used to sing The Alphabet Songs before she did Backyardigans and she was GREAT! I'm patiently awaiting more great Jamia news! She will be honoring the Legendary Aretha Franklin!! The show will be taped on Sept 8th 2006 at the Kodak Theater in LA!! Also I wanted to let you all know that the movie made Lifetime TV History on it's premiere night coming in as the second most-watched movie in its 22-year history with 6.6 million viewers.
