Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

I just updated the gallery with a few pictures of Jamia. Three (3) are from a few months ago when Jamia performed at the “Every Woman for Obama” Rally and the rest are from Jamia’s performance yesterday at the Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks game where she performed “God Bless America” during the seventh inning!

Jamia also posted up a new video on YouTube yesterday where she sang Happy Birthday to someone very special to her! Of course, she sang it beautifully. See for yourself below.

Thanks to Nigeria for some of the pictures!

JAMIA’S INTERVIEW WITH SOAP OPERA DIGEST

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Soap Opera Digest recently interviewed Jamia about working on Y&R, school and family, among other things. See some below, click the link at the bottom to read the full interview.

Y&R’s Ana has captured the hearts of everyone in Genoa City. Meanwhile, her portrayer, Jamia Simone Nash, has captured the attention of both the entertainment and music world, and even got to perform Best Song Nominee, “Raise It Up,” (from August Rush) at the 2008 Academy Awards. Digest caught up with the 12-year-old superstar, who despite her success, is just happy being a kid.

Jamia Nash with her on-screen mother, Eva Marcille Soap Opera Digest: How are you liking Y&R?
Jamia Simone Nash: I’m loving every minute of it. It’s very fun to be the only kid there.

Digest: How did you get the job?
Nash: Miss Maria Bell, the head writer, called me directly. She called me after seeing me perform.

Digest: Do you like acting or singing better?
Nash: I actually like them both because they’re both so different. I can’t choose just one of them! I’m going to continue to do both as I get older.

Digest: After doing movies, was it harder or easier doing a soap?
Nash: It was easier because I’m fresh in the morning [laughs].

Digest: Do you hang out outside of work with your co-stars, like Kristoff [St. John, Neil] or Eva [Marcille, Tyra]?
Nash: Not really, because I’m younger and I don’t spend time a lot of time with adults other than my family outside of work. I think they’re so nice, though, and I appreciate everyone’s love and support.

Digest: Are you and Ana anything alike?
Nash: Not at all! We have absolutely nothing in common. I have two parents. My mom is not on drugs and my character’s experienced all this stuff I’ve never experienced. The stuff Ana is going through I haven’t really been through.

JAMIA AND DAVID ARCHULETA!

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Hey Jamia Fans! Check out this EXCLUSIVE picture of Jamia and David Archuleta from the Build a Bear event!!!

jamiaanddavidarchuleta

David also mentioned Jamia in his MySpace blog recently, here’s what he had to say:

“…The other girl was named Jamia, and she was the little girl in August Rush! I remember watching Jamia actually on Showtime at the Apollo and Jay Leno when she was 7, so it was so cool! haha. I was blown away by her then, and I am blown away by her now. She was full of energy, and was hilarious too.”

I can’t wait to hear the theme song that they did!

Also, I wanted to make an IMPORTANT NOTICE that the song “Black Maybe” with Common has been removed from our play list after being informed by The PEG that it’s NOT Jamia on the track! Sorry, I know it’s been on the site for about two years and it’s being said all over the internet that it’s Jamia on the track but it’s not.

THANKS to The PEG (The Popular Entertainment Group) for everything!

** Listen this beat made by one of Jamia’s fans (Gm3) from one of her past performances. It’s sick! HEAR IT HERE!
