I’ll start off. My favorite Jamia memory was last year when she gave me a surprise phone call to congratulate me on my graduation!!! It was so sweet of her and so cool to finally TALK to her after all these years! Lol… I was really caught off guard with it though, I had no idea! Sher really made my day too…THANKS JAMIA! I will always remember that…

But my most memorable was the first time I saw her perform in 2002. I remember my family and I were sitting around watching “Apollo” in the living room and she came out singing. We were all instant fans! Especially my mom and I, I remember my mom said “That’s my niece” after she left the stage. Lol! For some reason I knew she would become a star, I immediately ran upstairs and set my VCR to record her when the show played again the next day. I just HAD to have that on tape. (Good thing I did, because later I was able to use it on my fansite! :)… ) The next week she was on Apollo again, but I didn’t know she would be. I walked into the living room late so I only got to see the tail end of her performance and I was so upset!!! My mom was like “My neice was just singing again”… I was really upset because it didn’t air again like the week before and I wasn’t until earlier this year or so that I saw that performance again when someone uploaded it on YouTube. Hehe.

Anyway, I have so many Jamia memories… but don’t have time to share them all. I LOVE YOU JAMIA!!! :D

My most memorable moment was when I first saw a video of Jamia singing the song ‘Home’. I was just watching videos on Youtube when I clicked the video, I wasn’t really paying a lot of attention at first until she started singing. I was blown away when I heard that voice from such a young girl. I was a fan from that moment and started looking for more videos of her right away. I used to show her videos to my friends and family. I’ve been following her ever since that day!!

My MOST memorable moment was when I saw her perform in ATL when she was like … 5,4. I was like ” We’re the same age & SHE’s famous. And ever since then i admire her and i told my moma EVERYTHING about her. ” Moma she on Romeo: moma she got a new song!!” My moma said “WOW! That CANT be true!!!!!!!”

Omg I have so many memories!!! One in particular was something she said I think it was when she was asked was she nervous about performing at the Oscars and she said no fear is only in the mind it isnt a God given trait! Im not sure if thats exactly what she said but that touched me coming from such a young girl since Im a christian! Im 17 but still at her age I never thought of stuff like that!!! But the first time i saw her was on Half and Half and since then I’ve been a fan!!! And Omg i wish Jamia would call me to lol!!! That would be so cool!!!!! Anyways I love you Jamia and you to Tereyah for keeping us updated on Jamia!!!

I’ve watched Jamia grow up through the years. The first time I saw her was when she first appeared on the Jay Leno show. One moment that stood out to me is when during a interview she said that the most important thing is being yourself and not like everybody else. I thought that was such a great statement for a young black child to say and believe. Especially in todays time when alot of our black youth don’t want to be or don’t like being themselves.

I have sooo many memorable moments of Jamia! She’s said some really powerful stuff for her age and has had reallyy great performances too. But, I remember when I first saw Jamia on TV as MC Lilly on Nick Jr. I just thought she was the cutest little girl with a nice voice! Lol my sister, cousin, and I would alwaysss try to catch her alphabet songs on TV haha I loved them lol. I knew she had a lot of talent and I wanted to know who she was so I searched online for her but didn’t know her name lol! I finally saw her on the Maury Show at age 7 and I was sooo glad I got her name! I searched online again and found the fan site when it was Definition of the Future. Ever since then I kept up with her and became an even bigger fan!! I loved seeing her performances.. they gave me chills because she’s so amazing!!!

Jamia is growing up beautifully inside and out. I know she will continue to go far and touch many people with her gifts and talents. Love ya Jamia!!

Im a lil late.. but i have been a huge jamia fan ever since her first performance on maury! when i saw the commercial for the upcoming show i ran and got a tape so that I could watch it over and over again (and trust me I have.. LoL) Right after the performance I came to the computer and thats when I found Reyah’s site. I signed up right away and have been checking back whenever i have time ever since!

But the actual first real time I saw her was when she was singing at the Apollo her second time. I just caught the tail end like Reyah because I heard an amazing voice from another room and by the time I ran in to see who was singing she was almost done. But i could not believe who that voice had come out of when I saw lil Jamia on stage!! Of course at that time I didnt know her name but i recognized her right away about a year later on Maury.
