In honor of Jamia’s 13th Birthday coming up on August 21st we, JamiaNashFans.Com, will be counting down the days with her with all sorts of memories and interactive activities.

DAY 11 Today marks day 11 in the Jamia big birthday countdown, and we’ll be remembering Jamia’s special moment at the Oscars!

Did you know that at age 11 Jamia broke records, becoming the youngest African American to EVER perform at the Academy Awards?! Yup, before Jamia, singer Aaliyah was the youngest and she performed at the age of 17. Jamia’s performance wowed the audience as she sang “Raise It Up” from the film August Rush along with the IMPACT REPERTORY THEATRE. That was a great occasion for her and her family! Take a look at them on the Oscars’ stage doing their thing below. This is one of my favorite Jamia performances.
