Start thinking about what you want your future to be like. What you want to do in your career and where you want to be. Knowing where you want to be going will make your choices for what to study at school and general choices as you grow up a LOT easier to make! I’m pretty sure Jamia has had a clear idea about this since a very young age but your goals never stop evolving so she probably still has ideas about what she wants to be when she grows up!

Don’t let bad things let you down, see everything that goes wrong as a lesson and learn from it.

Talk to your mother! she’s your best source of information you’ll ever have. I know my mom is my best friend and always has the best advice. If you have a problem or if you’re unsure what’s right, talk to her.

    That’s a great one CiCi… I agree! :)

I know that I probably dont have to tell you this but BE YOURSELF! dont do what everyone else is doing! Be a LEADER not a FOLLOWER! My mom taught me that from day one and Im sure your parents told you the same. But Im repeating it but its VERY important especially since VERY SOON you will be starting high school a*k*a “zone of pressure” alot of people may or may not pressure you into things that you dont want to do/know you shouldn’t do. Overall I’ve been avoided falling in to peer pressure and i KNOW that you will make good choices. I just use the acronym W.W.J.D and I also made myself a name/slogan Im Simply Me,Simply Jazzy! The ONLY person I CAN and WANT to be! But i dont want to write a book lol so Im going to end it here! LOVE YOU JAMIA!!! HOPE you have the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!! YOU’RE OFFICIALLY A TEENAGER GIRL!!! I was you 4 years ago lol!!!

My advice was actually going to be the same as what Jazzy said, but she said it very well! It’s OK to be YOUnique, people will try to make you feel bad about wanting to be different too… trust me, I know. Lol… but just do what I do and tell them “You laugh because I’m different, I laugh because you’re all the same.”… that’ll hit em’ where it hurts… Hehe. :)

Another thing I see happen often with teenage girls is that they make boys their main priority and put what’s important “on the back burner” (I sound like my mom with that. LOL)… but STAY FOCUSED! We all love you and want to see you BE GREAT… don’t let NOTHING OR NO ONE get in your way of education or following your dreams… especially BOYS! Ugh… they are all jerks anyway at your age LOL. Don’t get sidetracked.

Have Lots of FUN… that’s what being a teen is all about… :)

I remember after I turned 13 I started getting pimples and acne and I went through an akward stage. If you ever experience this (most teenagers do) just remember that every one goes through this and it’s all apart of the body maturing process. Little tips for dealing with and or trying to get rid of/avoid pimples and acne is to drink plenty of water each day, it helps to flush all the impurities out of your system. Wash your face after you’ve been outside for a long period of time and wash it before you go to bed, but don’t over wash because it will take the natural oils out of your face and make your face dry and then your face in return will produce extra oils which will cause acne and pimples. Don’t pick at or try to pop them, it only makes it worse and sometimes it leaves a scar afterwards. Make sure to keep your hair away from/pulled back from your face, because the oils that are on our hair help contribute to pimples and acne. Try to eat sweets, greasy and fried food in moderation. Try to avoid putting your hands to your face or constantly touching it. If you do need to touch your face, make sure to watch your hands first, because the natural oils from our fingers and face touching contribute to acne and pimples. Lastly, just give your acne and pimples time to run their course and they will clear up on their own with creams or homemade remedies.
